Today's special offer: mobile number for only $19,000
A mobile telephone number in Bahrain is on sale for $19,000. This mobile telephone number has become the most expensive in the history of the local market, for no reason other than aesthetics.
Abdullah al-Hammadi, who specialises in selling mobile and licence plate numbers is obsessed with owning an eye-catching sequence of such numbers. He said: "I'm sure that there are some people who want to buy this number, which is 9111119, at this price. There is a market for trading in mobile and car numbers".Since Abdullah started his business in 1988 he has sold 5,000 special mobile phone numbers. About his customers he said: "They are wealthy people who are willing to pay virtually anything for a unique licence plate or mobile number". Once, he sold a licence plate number for about $110,000!
Abdullah says that there are also some people who ask me to sell their number because they need the cash for medical treatment, or just because of a lack of cash.Posted in Tech & Science Business & Politics by
